Actually when I *first* moved to SF in ’96, I lived over on Virginia St. for $289! Except I was sharing w/ 3 other people, 1 bathroom and my bedroom was the size of a closet. Former Franconia street Bernal Heights resident. In 1989, that four bedroom, two car garage house on a hill, where on a clear day you could see the planes landing at Oakland airport... $1150 a month.
