if there is a god…

I hope he/she’s heard me, because today I’ve been all out *praying* Prop 85 doesn’t pass. As I’m settling down to go to sleep, the results are looking hopeful, but I will still say a few more and keep my fingers & toes crossed. It’s so important to me. Think good thoughts!

Sadly, stupid Arnie looks like he’s on the road to winning again (ug), and Prop 87 isn’t doing so well, which is more than surprising – not to mention a total bummer. Here was my friend Deep’s stance on that one: “YES YES YES. Make oil companies pay a tax to extract oil just like other states do? Use this money to fund alternative energy development? This is MEGA PLUS GOOD. In a better world we wouldn’t have to vote on something like this.” Well said.

I’ll also be really curious to see what happens with Prop 86, since I think that was confusing for a lot of people and may have thrown the vote way off.

I hope you all went out & exercised your right to vote today.

UPDATE: YAY!!! 85 didn’t pass & we now have more pro-choice voices in Congress! Here are more local results.

Unfortunately, Arnie won big, and props. 86 and 87 lost.

    Sleep well friend.

The real disappointment of the measures you mentioned above is the failure of Prop 87. Who doesn’t want cleaner air and less dependence on foreign oil?
Still, it makes sense that California voters didn’t want another bureaucracy.
