WilloToons is the creative venture of well-known designer, illustrator and music lover Willo O’Brien. Based in San Francisco, she draws inspiration from the local intersection of geeks and guitars. A seasoned and professionally trained artist who has specialized in Web and Flash design throughout her career, Willo translates one’s love of internet connectivity, illustration and indie rock into unique gifts for celebrating the “geekyfantastic” rocker within all of us.
From cartoons to quips, embroidery to screenprint, Willo’s designs capture her creative spin on the adjacent worlds of music and technology in the Bay Area. Willo is also proud that her line is entirely eco-conscious and sweatshop-free, supporting local small businesses as much as possible. Willo O’Brien moved to San Francisco at the dawn of the first Internet bubble. As a highly social individual, she has no trouble making new friends – whether it be at a rock concert or in line at Whole Foods. Her friendly, outgoing demeanor has allowed her to spend the last decade building long-lasting friendships with the entrepreneurs and trendsetters of the Internet 2.0 phenomenon, and she has become a dyed-in-the-wool early adopter of social media technologies and an innovator in how to use those technologies for promotion and marketing.
Willo has been a speaker and panelist at SXSW, the Small Business Administration (SBA) for the Fashion Industry Network, Indie Biz Chicks, and the Summit of Awesome. For the past eight years, she has been mentoring the next generation of writers, artists, and techies at Bamboozled.org. Willo shares her expertise by offering Emerging Media Consultation for startups and DIY businesses.
