xoxoxoxoxo
Twice in the last 6 months I’ve had people ask me what ‘xo’ means. haha! What are you, an alien from another country!? (no offense, H) It just cracks me up.. who doesn’t know what xo means!? Well, apparently a couple people. Understandably the first person actually was, albeit not an alien, from another country… so OK… I’ll let that slide :) But someone who grew up in America asked me today and I just thought it was so cute.
So in case I have the opportunity to school more people on the glory that is the ‘x’ and ‘o’:
they’re kisses & hugs, sillies! x is a kiss, o is a hug… so when you reaaaaally love someone, it looks like this:
xoxoxooxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxo (and sometimes I throw in a ‘to infinity’ to really drive it home :p)
ok bye!
xoxo

p.s. Steve (of the famed Sneeze!) just relayed a hilarious bit the late, great Mitch Hedberg had done regarding the ‘x’…
“Xylophone is spelled with an X. It’s like X didn’t have enough to do sothey had to promise it more. “Okay, you won’t start alot of words, but you will have a co-staring role in Tic-Tac-Toe. And you will be aquainted with hugs and kisses. and you will make writing christmas easier. and you will mark the spot. and you will incedentaly start Xylophone. Are you happy now, you f*cking X?”
here’s some more great lines from that genius.
p.s.s. since we’re on the topic of people blowing me away with things I thought were common knowledge.. let me throw another one out that I was dumbfounded my friends didn’t know:
When you eat asparagus, your pee smells funny afterwards!
I mean, hello!? doesn’t everyone know that!? :)

Uhm, the *word* asparagus even smells funny.
asparagus from the etymology website -
etymology
“an air of stiffness and pedantry”
asparagus
You know a word stinks when you’ve got to look up words that DEFINE it!
Pedantry?? Erh?
Sounds like a word the shizzolator would make up.
“Get me the asparagus from the pantry”
“Yo dog, snap me up sum o dat aspizzaragus from da pedantry.”
Or would that be pizzantry?
Apparantly, I’m not down.
Uhm…not just your “pee”…it makes other things, ahem, *taste* funny too.
it grosses me out just typing it.
course , over here in Ireland xo means F*ck Off but I understand American scutlure so I didn’t mind.
Doesn’t every gesture and phrase mean F*ck off in Ireland?
I kid, I kid. I’m a kidder.
oh my eoin! I had no idea! eeek! I gotta watch it then eh?! wowzers..
