youth creating history
I love my BAMboozled.org kids!! I’ve been working with a group of teen authors for 8 years now (since ‘01), ever week in the Sunset. How responsible & grown up of me, huh? haha. Truly, the mind boggles.
Anyway, I absolutely love every group that comes through, and it’s always so hard to see them go [off to college]. Breaks my heart to even think of the few awesome kids in this shot (which we took at last night’s meeting) who I’ll dearly miss.
The good news is they usually keep in contact with us for years after. In fact, thanks to the internets, I’m still very much in touch with a few of the kids from the very first group I had! Love it.

Willo – you are soooooo cool. (I’m the 4th guy’s from the left, muther :)
Yay! Thanks Terry! You’re so cool, too! :)
I got really happy when I saw this. And then I got sad: all the kids we had together are gone (well, duh: I left SF in 2005). But then I thought a little more (what awesome writers and people (that’s you too W) to know, and especially about my team crushing your team in Taboo or Scattergories or whatever that was) and I got happy again.
So: all’s well that ends well heh heh (sniff).
Oh man, we so need to play Taboo again! Thanks for that reminder. *memorieeeees*
You are missed, Jake… along with the awesome BAM alumni all growed up, off at college & beyond! *sniff*
